Orangetheory Fitness: What’s All the Buzz About?

What Exactly is Orangetheory Fitness?
It is a “1-hour, full-body workout, focused on training endurance, strength, and power”. The workouts include cardio, stretches, floor exercise and more. Each workout is tailored to fit your needs.
There are professional coaches to guide your workout so it fits your needs. You can set the pace of your workout by choosing to walk, bike, run or stride. If you have any injuries or are recovering from one, all you need to do is tell your coach and the workout will be adjusted to work around you that so you get the most out of your hour.

The Orangetheory workout is designed to “metabolically challenge the body”.
How Does OrangeTheory Fitness Work?
The workout consists of five heart rate zones:
- Very light activity
- Challenging but doable
- Orange effect, uncomfortable
- All-out effort!
The goal is to get yourself in the orange zone for at least 12 min. The ultimate goal is for your “body to feel good from inside out”.
Orangetheory workouts use heart-rate based interval training and offer their OTbeat heart rate monitors so you are able to keep track of your heart rate throughout your workout.
The data also lets you and your coach know when you should push a little harder or scale back and recover.
Orangetheory Fitness Cost
Arrive with a water bottle and towel in hand, and you are good to go for your first Orange theory workout! For local residents, the very first workout is free!
Orangetheory offers three different packages. Check out the three tiers (basic, elite and premier)here.
The main difference between the three tiers is the number of classes you are able to take per month.
- Basic membership gives you 4 classes/month + additional sessions at a discounted rate.
- Elite membership gives you 8 classes/month + additional sessions at a discounted rate.
- Premier membership gives you unlimited access to classes – the best bang for your buck if you know you will be fully committed.
All three tiers of membership packages include flexible class times, access to all the studio locations nationwide, freeze privileges, online/mobile booking and month-to-month contract.
No long-term contracts exist!
